It's Your Practice, I'm Just The Teacher
Sharing yoga is one of the great joys of my life! I’m so enthusiastic about it because I know the benefits – less pain in your body, more flexibility, more energy, added strength, better muscle tone, and improved balance. With a regular yoga practice, you’ll also manage stress better, improve your ability to focus, and breathe and sleep better. You'll learn how to be still, to check in with yourself, to find a sense of peace and welcome with yourself.
As I see it, my role as teacher is to help students learn proper alignment and guide them toward listening to their own bodies. Every flower opens at its own time and to its own degree, and with this in mind, I encourage students to be patient with themselves and consistent in their practice. I often provide handouts to facilitate a home practice, and offer a suggested home practice in each class.
Public Classes, Individual Attention
I'm committed to giving my students individual attention. I often suggest pose modifications to meet a student’s specific needs, and we use lots of props to keep things comfortable. I explain and demonstrate all the poses first, then verbally lead the class through them. I guide and assist the students, as they work to their own abilities. I encourage them to always honor their bodies and be gentle with themselves. I emphasize proper alignment & safety. I keep it fun and real!
I offer both public and limited private sessions. You’ll take the first step in improving your health and well-being when you begin a yoga practice with me.
Through my personal practice and the classes that I take and teach, my practice grows continually. I learn so much from my students!
