Gentle Yoga: Mondays 9:30-11am, Tuesdays 4:30-6:00pm, Thursdays 4:30-6pm
Gentle Yoga is a Level 1 class in which we use props and modifications to gently challenge you to reach your maximum potential. It's a slower-paced class, emphasizing yogic breathing and stress reduction. If you prefer a less vigorous class or if you have health challenges, this is the right class for you. I gear the class toward the needs of the students participating.
Extra-Gentle Yoga: Mondays 11:15am-12:45pm, Thursdays 11:15am-12:45pm
Extra-Gentle Yoga (formerly Therapeutic Yoga) is meant for those with injuries and serious health challenges, such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, MS, and other conditions that provide movement limitations. Working within the context of each student's abilities, the practice is modified for each individual's needs. In addition to building strength and compassion for the body, we work with breathing and relaxation techniques that help you take your yoga practice with you wherever you go!
Yoga 1: Tuesdays 6:15-7:45pm, Fridays 5-6:30pm
Yoga 1 introduces new and continuing students to the basic principles of alignment and breath. The emphasis is on opening and strengthening the legs, hips, front and back core, as well as shoulders and chest.
Yoga 1-2: Wednesdays 6:15-7:45pm
Yoga 1-2 is for those who've completed Yoga 1 or have prior alignment-based yoga experience and are interested in building endurance and strength. We explore body alignment in greater depth by refining standing poses and taking on more seated postures. I offer options to keep everyone entertained. ;-)
Yoga 2: Tuesdays 10am-11:30am
Yoga 2 is for students who have completed Yoga 1-2 or have prior alignment-based yoga experience. The emphasis is on refining standing and seated poses, and adding new variations. We practice pranayama and brief meditation. A spirit of inquiry and fun is a must!
